LIVING WITH

How do you know if you may have migraine or Chronic Migraine?

Chronic Migraine follows you around more days than not. It’s defined as at least 8 MIGRAINE DAYS per month, and a total of 15 or more MIGRAINE OR HEADACHE DAYS per month.

SO, FOR EXAMPLE:

Every day affected by migraine and headache counts

Don’t forget to include the sensations you feel before or after a migraine or headache. Some people feel a “headache hangover” after their migraine is over, or pain before it starts—that’s certainly not a headache-free day! If you have headache lasting 4 hours or more, make sure you count that as a migraine or headache day and talk to your doctor.

So what does it mean to live with Chronic Migraine?

Not only does it lurk around more than half your month, Chronic Migraine symptoms can be severe and may include:

  • Nausea and/or vomiting

  • Sensitivity to light and sound

  • Changes in vision, sensation, and speech

DID YOU KNOW?

Chronic Migraine has been shown to be a greater burden on life than other headache conditions. In a recent study, some people with Chronic Migraine said that they hadn’t been able to participate in a family vacation due to headache in the last year. Others had to cancel their vacation altogether!
